Our Story
Salomé & Evan Smit, founders of Namasvrede, built their skincare brand out of love for family, nature, and the richness of South Africa. What began as a mother’s mission to avoid harsh chemicals for their daughters became a trusted range of tallow-based products made on Kanoneiland.
In the heart of Kanoneiland, a sun-kissed island nestled in the Northern Cape of South Africa, Salomé and Evan have built a life that intertwines their love for nature, family, and their beloved country. Concerned about the harsh chemicals in store-bought products, Salomé turned to nature fifteen years ago to protect their daughters, Carla and Elka. That personal mission became Namasvrede — small-batch, nutrient-rich skincare centered on grass-fed tallow, castor oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, and carefully selected essential oils.
